Worksop Music Concert Series

Run by the College for music-lovers across the region, Worksop Music is a non-profit venture which aims to provide significant cultural enrichment at an accessible cost.

Attracting artists from across the UK and beyond, this series also features home-grown talent from across the school’s pupils and staff. This year’s programme continues the strong spirit of education imbued with quality and diversity: from the pianistic virtuosity of Benjamin Frith, superb choirs with international reputations and perspectives, to  the  Bohemian energy of the Dodo Street Band with their unique blend of Klezmer, Gypsy and Celtic Folk traditions.

Haydn: The Creation

NORTH NOTTS CHAMBER CHOIR

WORKSOP COLLEGE CHAPEL CHOIR

MOUNTGARRET CONCERT ORCHESTRA

Conducted by TIMOTHY UGLOW

A ground-breaking work in its time, remarkable for its ingenious and original use of the orchestra to describe the Book of Genesis, The Creation is full of delight. Great whales, sunrise, the rolling seas – even leaping tigers – are evoked in a fantastic tapestry of sound in one of the greatest ever oratorios.
